Benjamin Hoff (1946) es un escritor estadounidense, conocido principalmente por El Tao de Pooh (The Tao of Pooh), publicado en 1982, y El Te de Piglet (The Te of Piglet), de 1992. Estudió Arte Asiático en The Evergreen State College y desarrolló un profundo interés por la cultura oriental, el taoísmo, el tai chi y la naturaleza. Antes de dedicarse plenamente a la escritura trabajó como periodista de investigación, podador de árboles, músico y restaurador de antigüedades. Su obra más famosa utiliza los personajes de Winnie-the-Pooh para explicar de manera sencilla y cercana los principios del taoísmo. El Tao de Pooh se convirtió en un éxito internacional y permaneció durante 49 semanas en la lista de los más vendidos de The New York Times. En 1988 recibió el American Book Award por su obra The Singing Creek Where the Willows Grow.
