Rana Tahir es escritora y pedagoga con experiencia en enseñanza media, secundaria y universitaria, y realizó un máster en Bellas Artes en la Pacific University de Forest Grove, Oregón. Nacida en Pakistán, se crio en las playas de Kuwait, y abandonó su hogar para estudiar escritura en Estados Unidos. Cuando no está en su despacho preparando sus clases, escribiendo o investigando, se le puede encontrar zambulléndose en lagos y ríos durante largas caminatas, aunque siempre olvida el traje de baño y tiene que sentarse en el coche con la ropa mojada y fría de regreso a casa.
