El manga de Dragon Ball Super empezó a publicarse en Japón en paralelo al anime; en junio de 2015. Desde entonces sale un nuevo capítulo cada mes en la revista V-Jump. Esta cadencia extremadamente lenta para quien está acostumbrado a los mangas de la Shonen Jump hace que cada tomo salga con bastante distancia de tiempo respecto al anterior; pero esto a su vez asegura que la calidad del producto final sea impecable. En este caso; la realización y dibujo está a cargo de Toyotaro; quien con su dedicación logra que la diferencia de dibujo con Akira Toriyama sea casi imperceptible; aunque siempre hay que tener en cuenta que el propio Toriyama autoriza y supervisa cada viñeta que verán impresa. Como resultado tenemos una versión mucho más prolija; concisa y dinámica de la historia de DB Super.

Akira Toriyama (鳥とり山やま 明あきら) Nagoya 1955 - 2024 is a renowned Japanese mangaka, creator of Dragon Ball, one of the most influential series in the history of manga and anime. Born on April 5, 1955 in Nagoya, Japan, he began his career in the 70s, achieving his first success with Dr. Slump (1980). In 1984, he launched Dragon Ball, which became a global phenomenon with adaptations into anime, movies, and video games.

In addition to his work in manga, Toriyama has designed characters for video games such as Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest. His dynamic and creative style has left an indelible mark on pop culture. Currently, he lives in Japan and continues to oversee projects related to Dragon Ball.
