El libro tiene como propósito fundamental presentar un estudio de investigación sobre el riesgo y las condiciones ergonómicas del personal de enfermería y cuidadores encargados de la atención y movilización de pacientes en centros geriátricos, empleando una metodología con enfoque mixto y alcance descriptivo, donde se aplicaron técnicas pragmáticas e instrumentos de recolección de datos, tales como, una encuesta sociodemográfica y de morbilidad sentida, el análisis documental de procedimientos de trabajo, la observación directa, el registro fotográfico, fichas adaptadas a centros geriátricos de la metodología movilización y asistencia a pacientes hospitalizados (MAPO) y el método patient transfer assessment instrument (PTAI).
