Alberto Montt (Quito, Ecuador, December 22, 1972) is a Chilean-Ecuadorian illustrator and cartoonist, globally recognized for his comic strip series "Dosis diarias", which has captivated readers in Latin America and Europe. Trained in graphic design and fine arts in Quito, Montt began his career in magazines and Ecuadorian media before moving to Chile in 1998, where he established himself as one of the most biting and original voices in contemporary cartoon humor.
Since 2006, the blog "Dosis diarias" marked a turning point in his career: his illustrations, full of irony, social critique, and a distinctive philosophical view on modern life, have been translated into numerous languages and published in books such as "En dosis diarias", "¡Mecachendié!", "Solo necesito un gato", "Ansiedad", and "La conquista de los gatos", among more than twenty titles edited internationally.
His work stands out for exploring themes such as religion, politics, anxiety, and everyday life, always approached with wit and honesty. Additionally, his collaboration with artists like Liniers led him to create the show "Los Ilustres", a format of illustrated stand-up presented in different countries.
Montt has been honored with awards such as the Altazor de las Artes Nacionales in Chile and the The BOBs award for the best blog in Spanish given by Deutsche Welle in 2011. He currently resides in France, after receiving an invitation from the Maison des Auteurs to undertake an artistic residency in Angoulême. His style, capable of provoking laughter and reflection, has generated an international community of readers loyal to his cartoons and stories.
