Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known worldwide as Pope Francis, was a prolific author in the genres of spirituality, theology, and social doctrine. Before his election as pontiff in 2013, he wrote works such as Meditations for Religious (1982) and On Self-Accusation (2005). During his papacy, he published fundamental texts like the encyclicals Lumen fidei (2013), Laudato si’ (2015), and Fratelli tutti (2020), as well as the apostolic exhortation Evangelii gaudium (2013). In 2024, he presented his autobiography Hope, considered the first written by a sitting Pope.

His most recent work, Hope Never Disappoints (2025), reflects his ongoing commitment to social and spiritual issues. Throughout his life, Bergoglio wrote more than 30 books, establishing himself as one of the most influential voices of the contemporary Church.
