Anabel Gonzalez is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and Doctor of Medicine. She works at the Complexo Hospitalario Universitario A Coruña (CHUAC). She is the president of the EMDR Spain Association, whose website is www.asociacionemdr.es. For years, she has been providing training to other specialists, is an accredited EMDR therapy trainer, and offers courses on this therapeutic methodology at www.institutoimaya.com. She is also a doctoral tutor at the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) and a guest professor in the EMDR Psychotherapy Master's program at the National University of Distance Education (UNED).

She is the author of The Good Side of Having a Bad Day (Planeta, 2020), Scars Don't Hurt (Planeta, 2021) —both translated into several languages—. Also of It's Not Me (2017) and some specialized books, and has directed several research projects on these topics.
