Synopsis "World of Rage: a story in the near future"

In the near future a serious environmental condition will plague the world. Told with a touch of tongue in cheek, an awkward hero and a beautiful 'super' lady take you through an era of troubles for humankind. But the intrepid duo give the bad guys their best and prevail to the end. The story begins with Blake, a Zone Warden, meeting the heroin, Jackie, in one of the Zones. After falling in love they are embroiled in a struggle between a Senator responsible for laws encouraging toxic strip commercial land and a major strip commercial land owner. This entanglement puts them on the wrong side of the law as well as the owner. Eventually events come to a head at a conference intended as a first step toward quelling animosity between the segregated 'Garden' and 'Precinct' residents. The story and it's tense ending raise questions about the next steps toward our future. The book is also a vehicle for presenting a reasonable, but admittedly opinionated view, and explanation of the condition of our more desolate suburban commercial environments. Topics range from segregated land planning, the problems with present land development practices and laws, to a possible social de-evolution caused by extreme laissez faire land policy. This fictional story was created by an architect and urban planner with intimate knowledge of suburban 'strip commercial' development and a less than favorable opinion of their value to society and our health.
