Hermanos Grimm
Jacob (1785-1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859), known as the "Brothers Grimm," were German philologists and writers known for their compilation of folk tales. Their work in linguistics influenced the creation of the Deutsches Wörterbuch, one of the most important dictionaries of the German language. However, their literary legacy focuses on the collection of traditional stories that, although modified in successive editions, became references in children's literature.
Among their most notable works is Children's and Household Tales (1812-1857), which includes stories like Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, and Cinderella. There are also annotated editions such as Brothers Grimm: Annotated Edition, which offers analysis on their cultural influence. Their work belongs to the genre of fairy tales and children's literature.
