Nick Srnicek
Nick Srnicek (Canada, 1982) is an academic and writer specialized in digital economy and contemporary political theory. PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics, he is currently a professor in the Department of Digital Humanities at King's College London. His work focuses on the intersection between technology, economy, and politics, being a prominent figure in the accelerationism movement and in debates about postcapitalism. He has been editor of Millennium: Journal of International Studies and has collaborated with various international academic institutions.
Among his most notable works are Inventing the Future: Postcapitalism and a World Without Work (2015, with Alex Williams), Platform Capitalism (2016), and After Work: A History of Home and the Struggle for Free Time (2023, with Helen Hester). These essays address topics such as automation, the digital economy, and the reorganization of work and leisure in contemporary society. Srnicek is recognized for his critical and proactive approach to the challenges of capitalism in the digital age.
