This socio‑political novel-interwoven with reflections on sustainability-begins at the end of the Second World War with the creation of the United Nations, and from that moment unfolds a series of fictional events that carry us into the present day and beyond, all the way to the year 2050.

In the aftermath of the war, the world clamors for radical change. A group of political leaders, supported by the finest scientists of the era and by a global population exhausted after half a century of destruction, sees the opportunity to build a different model of governance: a global, technocratic, sustainable system led by the United Nations.

Through the life of Guzmán, the novel explores how this world functions across several scenarios that are critical both to the governance model and to the planet's sustainability. Guzmán also develops a unique sensitivity to his surroundings and to the universe, a capacity to connect with both in ways that shape his understanding of existence.
After eighty years of UN‑led global governance-built on strong technocratic foundations, long‑term vision, and a focus on minimizing human weaknesses and excesses-it seems that a successful and seemingly unshakeable structure has finally been created. Yet our own nature ultimately sets in motion the end of this cycle.

Through Guzmán's personal and professional experiences, the novel offers a critique of humanity: a species shaped by a cyclical past and living in a deeply sustainable and technological present that, despite its advances, remains vulnerable to our enduring idiosyncrasies.
