Synopsis "ADAPT Parts 3 and 4: Love and survival in a devastated world"

90% of the earth's people and structures have been destroyed by the explosion of a gigantic asteroid. This is the story of a small group of the survivors and the love they find among the hardships of their new life. Food, water, shelter, they're all gone. They start over with nothing but each other and what they can salvage from the destruction. They are rescued by the military and taken to a military camp which was also decimated by the explosion. The few supplies the camp had are dwindling. Complicating their lives even further a band of marauding thieves repeatedly try to take the few things the survivors do have. Earth has been pushed into the shadow of Venus and is extremely cold for three months a year. When it leaves Venus shadow it becomes increasingly warmer for three months culminating in extremely high temperature. No one on earth has had rain since the explosion. Our little group finds a Doctor of Science who has a rain-making machine. It is one more thing for the marauders to try to take.
