Synopsis "Adolf Ludwig (in German)"

Adolf Ludwig ( 27. Juni 1892 in Pirmasens; 18. Februar 1962 in Pirmasens) war ein deutscher Gewerkschafter und Politiker der SPD. Nach dem Besuch der Volksschule absolvierte Ludwig eine Schuhmacherlehre, die er mit der Gesellenprfung abschloss. Seit 1910 engagierte er sich in der Schuhmachergewerkschaft. Er besuchte 1922 die Akademie der Arbeit in Frankfurt am Main und 1924 die Firecroft Colleges in Birmingham zur Fortbildung. Nachdem er 1933 als Bezirksvorsitzender des Zentralverbandes der Schumacher Deutschlands in Pirmasens mehrfach verhaftet wurde, ging er in die Emigration nach Frankreich, wo er bis 1945 in der internationalen Gewerkschaftsbewegung ttig war.
