Va mas allá de las trincheras de la actual controversia entre los instintivistas (Lorenz) y los conductistas (Skinner). Asimismo, Fromm analiza la destructividad en los sueños y asociaciones de muchos pacientes y de figuras históricas como las de Stalin, Himmler, Hitler.
