Martín Caparrós (Buenos Aires, 1957) graduated in history in Paris, lived in Madrid and New York, directed book and cooking magazines, traveled half the world, translated Voltaire, Shakespeare, and Quevedo, received the Planeta Prize Latin America, the King of Spain award and the Guggenheim fellowship. Quizás sea imposible anticipar cuándo un libro se convertirá en clásico, pero este, sin ningún tipo de hipérbole lo lo será. En el repaso de su recuerdos Caparrós hace más que sólo una biografía. En sus palabras aquí no hay una historia de vida sino el relato de sus memorias las que, pese a todo, están muy vivas y lo seguirán estando aún cuando todo alrededor siga muriendo.
