Teresa Wilms Montt (Viña del Mar, 1893 – Paris, 1921) was a Chilean writer and poet, known for her rebellious spirit and her contribution to feminist anarchism. Born into an aristocratic family, she married at 17 to Gustavo Balmaceda Valdés, a union that led her to confront the strict social norms of the time. Her life was marked by transgression and the search for freedom, which led her to associate with prominent intellectuals of her time, such as Ramón Gómez de la Serna and Ramón María del Valle-Inclán.

Among her most notable works are "Inquietudes sentimentales" (1917), "Los tres cantos" (1917), "En la quietud del mármol" (1918), and "Anuarí" (1919), all in the genre of poetry and poetic prose. Her work reflects deep introspection and a critique of the social conventions of her time. Although she did not receive awards in her lifetime, her legacy has been revalued over time, inspiring contemporary works like "Y entonces Teresa" (2025) by writer Arturo Fontaine, which fictionalizes her life and highlights her relevance in Chilean literature.
