Synopsis "Arando la Mar (in Spanish)"

Las memorias del teniente general Manuel Díez-Alegría, hasta ahora inéditas, comienzan trazando una visión muy interesante sobre la vida cotidiana asturiana, y particularmente la gijonesa, a principios del siglo xx, desde la óptica de un niño y joven estudiante de bachiller. Son luego de gran interés, por lo escaso de testimonios en este sentido, para conocer la vida en las academias militares de la época, y para los historiadores que busquen indagar en la mentalidad de los militares que aceptaron la instauración de la Segunda República y luego se volvieron contra ella. Finalmente, los dos últimos capítulos redactados por don Manuel reflejan perfectamente la agonía del franquismo y cómo actuaron aquellos que intentaban perpetuar el régimen eliminando a quienes podían pretender oponerse a este propósito.
