Synopsis "Bailey's Afrocentric Communication Dictionary Volume 39"

ABOUT THE BOOK Language communicates Real, Distorted, and Fantasy messages-using literal or non-literal routes. Alternate routes, as with Figures of Communication (FOC), are Poetic devices whose purposes achieve a Pleasant Phatic Atmosphere by designing word phrases out of their "Literal" sense. FOC include Metaphors, Similes, Fables, Personifications, Analogies to make expressions of comparisons for imaginative interpretations so as to "touch" ones "Heart" and/or "Head." "Heart" touchers stimulate like-kind Icon Images which invoke Spiritual or Secular Emotions and/or Sentiments (Thoughts wrapped in Emotions). Any of these can be life-shaping or life-changing. Crudely Classified, they are: (A) Figures of Speech; (B) Figures of Thought; (C) Figures of Sound; (D) Figures of Drama; (E) Forms of Pain; and (F) Forms of Pleasure. The four Figures have places to incorporate any Pleasure and Pain Form. Otherwise, they creatively fashion Sublime Pleasures for "Making Fun Out of Hard Work!" "Head" touchers--concerning Fun, Play, Pleasure, and their limitless subdivisions--are Sub-Classified as: (F1) Highest Self, manifested by Instinct Play; (F2) Sublime Pleasure, as with Humane Humor, Wit, Jokes, Comedy; (F3) Humane Lower Self Pleasures, as engaged in by the Crowd; and (F/E4) Inhumane Lower (Animalistic) Self "Sick" Pleasures, specialties of Supernatural cults. Levels of Understanding for each consist of being: Aware, Introduced, Acquainted, Familiar, and Internalized. Except for (F/E4), itself a tool for Deceptions, all are for congenial "Being With," "Doing For," and "Relating to" the Good "ME/We". Each is invaluable for learning "Flexible" Thinking + Outside-the-Box" thinking + shedding pre-conceived thinking Patterns to better understand and carry out Serious Business.
