What did God reveal about the future-and why does biblical prophecy matter to believers today? BIBLICAL PROPHECY: God's Plan for the Ages, the Return of Christ, and the Kingdom to Come presents a clear, Christ-centered study of the prophetic Scriptures from Daniel and the Old Testament prophets through the teachings of Jesus, the apostolic writings, and the Book of Revelation. Dr. Raymond E. Smith approaches prophecy with a guiding conviction: prophecy was given to prepare the believer, not to panic the believer. Rather than building doctrine around speculation, sensational headlines, or date-setting, this volume places Scripture at the center and Jesus Christ at the heart of God's prophetic plan. Readers will explore Daniel's prophetic visions and seventy weeks, the Olivet Discourse, the Rapture of the Church, the Tribulation, the Antichrist and the mystery of 666, Israel and God's prophetic purpose, Ezekiel 38-39, the structure and major movements of Revelation, the Second Coming of Christ, the Millennial Kingdom, the final judgment, and the new heaven and new earth. The book also examines major interpretive questions and differing evangelical views while presenting the author's pre-tribulation and premillennial understanding of biblical prophecy. Historical developments and modern events are considered carefully as illustrations without allowing current events to replace the authority of Scripture. Written for believers, Bible teachers, pastors, and ministry leaders, BIBLICAL PROPHECY combines understandable teaching with serious biblical study, historical context, helpful charts and timelines, and practical ministry application. SCRIPTURE BEFORE SPECULATION.>Prophecy ultimately points beyond the rise and fall of nations, beyond the Antichrist, and beyond the troubles of the last days. It points to the triumph and return of Jesus Christ-the King who is coming again.
