Synopsis "Bioinformatics"

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that develops tools for understanding biological data, in particular when the data sets are large and complex. As an interdisciplinary field of science, bioinformatics combines biology, computer science, information engineering, mathematics and statistics to analyze and interpret the biological data. Bioinformatics has been used for in silico analyses of biological queries using mathematical and statistical techniques. Drug design is an integrated developing discipline that portends an era of 'tailored drug'. It involves the study of the effects of biologically active compounds on the basis of molecular interactions in terms of molecular structure or its Physico-chemical properties involved. Molecular docking is a kind of bioinformatic modeling which involves the interaction of two or more molecules to give the stable adduct. Depending upon binding properties of ligand and target, it predicts the three-dimensional structure of any complex.
