Burden of Proof - B.J. Conner

Shortly after Ted Banks was promoted to Captain of the Evansville police department, his dear friend, Markham Bailey received the promotion to Lieutenant. Markham's first major case was a heinous murder of a woman and her son. The case was a particularly emotional one for everyone in involved. Markham invited a young officer, Hayden O'Connell, to assist him in the investigation. It becomes complicated as Officer O'Connell discovers one of the victim's sisters, Annabelle Givens, is the next target of the sadistic killer, and he may be falling in love with her.
