Gōshō Aoyama (青山 剛昌), born on June 21, 1963 in Hokuei, Tottori Prefecture, Japan, is a prominent Japanese mangaka known for his ability to blend mystery, humor, and visual storytelling in his works. He debuted in 1987 with the one-shot Chotto Mattete and gained fame with Yaiba (1988–1993), an adventure series that earned him the Shōgakukan Award for best shōnen manga in 1993. That same year, he started publishing Magic Kaito, featuring the charismatic thief Kaito Kid, a character who also appears in his most famous work.

In 1994, Aoyama began Detective Conan (Meitantei Conan), a mystery and crime series that has exceeded 100 volumes and has been adapted into anime, movies, and video games. In 2001, he again received the Shōgakukan Award for best shōnen manga for this work.
