Nach Band 1 mit Evangelien und Apostelgeschichten bietet der vorliegende Band den koptischen Text und die deutsche Ubersetzung mit Einleitungen und Erlauterungen zu apokryphen Briefen und Apokalypsen, die mit dem Namen des Herrenbruders Jakobus und Petrus verbunden sind, sowie eine universaleschatologische gnostische Apokalypse. "Jakobus" und "Petrus" liegen in doppelter Uberlieferung mit interessanten inhaltlichen Abweichungen vor. Die neueren papyrologischen Forschungen zum Codex Tchacos seit der Critical Edition 2007 sind eingearbeitet. Sprachlich gesehen sind in den gnostisch-apokryphen Texten alle Regionen Agyptens vom Nildelta bis nach Oberagypten vertreten. Erstmal seit der Editio princeps von Carl Schmidt (1919) wird der koptisch-achimistische Text der Epistula Apostolorum nach der Kairiner Handschrift neu ediert und durch grammatische und lexikalische Indizes erschlossen. Alle Texte wurden nach Fotos und Faksimileausgaben kollationiert.
