(Maryland, USA - 1971) Jeff Kinney wanted to be a comic strip artist from a young age, but after finishing his studies, he realized that making a living as an artist was not easy. Thus, while sketching what would become Diary of a Wimpy Kid, he worked as a designer at a newspaper and as a computer programmer. After six years of work, it was published on Funbrain.com. To date, the online version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid has over 80 million visits. In 2006, Greg's stories began to be published in book format and quickly reached the top of the sales charts. He currently works in design and develops online games and lives in Plainville (Massachusetts), with his wife, Julie, and their two children, Will and Grant. In 2009, Kinney was named by Time magazine one of the most influential people in the world.
