Synopsis "Distopías maestras (pack que incluye: 1984, Fahrenheit 451 y Un mundo feliz) (in Spanish)"

Tres grandes autores.Tres mundos reconocibles.

Ray Bradbury was born on August 22, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois, USA. During the Great Depression, he moved with his family to Los Angeles, where he graduated in 1938 from Los Angeles High School. His academic education ended there, but he continued to educate himself until he became a professional writer in 1943. His most famous works are "The Martian Chronicles" (1950), "The Illustrated Man" (1951), and "Fahrenheit 451" (1953). Bradbury has also written countless TV scripts, essays, and poems in addition to novels. His concern as a writer not only focuses on questioning the current way of life, but also delves into the realm of the fantastic and wonderful, with a poetic and sometimes provocative style. In his childhood, Bradbury was very prone to nightmares and horrible fantasies, which he later captured in his stories many years later.

Eric Arthur Blair (Motihari, British Raj, June 25, 1903-London, United Kingdom, January 21, 1950), known by his pen name George Orwell, was a British novelist, journalist, essayist, and critic born in India, author among other works of the dystopian novels Animal Farm (1945) and 1984 (1949)

His work bears the mark of autobiographical experiences lived by the author in three stages of his life: his position against British imperialism which led him to commit as a representative of the colonial law enforcement forces in Burma during his youth; in favor of democratic socialism, after having observed and suffered the living conditions of the working social classes in London and Paris; and against Nazi and Stalinist totalitarianisms after his participation in the Spanish Civil War, on the Republican side

In addition to being a chronicler, literary critic, and novelist, he is one of the most prominent essayists in the English language of the 1930s and 1940s. He is also known for his criticisms of totalitarianism in his allegorical short novel Animal Farm (1945) and his dystopian novel 1984 (1949), written in his last years of life and published shortly before his death, in which he creates the concept of "Big Brother," which has since entered the common language of criticism of modern surveillance techniques.

Aldous Huxley

Aldous Huxley (Godalming, England, July 26, 1894 – Los Angeles, November 22, 1963) was a British novelist, essayist, and thinker, internationally recognized for his work “Brave New World”, which positioned him as one of the most incisive voices in dystopian literature and social criticism of the 20th century. Born into a family of intellectuals and scientists, Huxley studied at Eton College and the University of Oxford, developing a keen sensitivity to the ethical and technological challenges of his time, despite the severe visual difficulties that accompanied him from youth.

In addition to his famous novel, Huxley's legacy includes titles such as “The Doors of Perception”, “Point Counter Point”, and “Island”, as well as numerous essays where he explored everything from philosophy to spirituality and science. His works, translated into several languages and debated in academic circles around the world, are characterized by their critical view, their analysis of scientific progress, and their concern for individual freedom against the risks of social and technological manipulation.

Throughout his career, Huxley was nominated several times for the Nobel Prize in Literature, although he never won it. His work has been praised for anticipating the essential ethical dilemmas of the modern world and connecting with readers of different generations. He resided in the United States during his last years, where he continued to give lectures and write until his death, which coincided with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Aldous Huxley left a lasting work, considered fundamental to understanding the impact of technology and culture on contemporary society.
