Synopsis "Down In the Quarter"

The ten-year-old, Sam Brody, first took notice of the city of New Orleans when he heard the molasses rich voice of Fats Domino and his accompanying piano. Upon that rock he began assembling his fantasy kingdom. Sam filled his mind with its facts, food, music, geography, and history. He now resides in the city of his dreams, where the spent two years studying journalism. The Crescent City Gazette hired him to undertake writing a weekly series about prostitution from the prostitute's viewpoint. What unfolds exposes the reader to the charm, ambiance, culinary pride, and attitude of the New Orleanian people. It also enters a morass of sex, political corruption, romance, mystery, and murder. This story sorts out the sordid, sweeping the dreams of a young man into the adult world and putting him in the center of a drama maybe only New Orleans could conjure up. Welcome to The Big Easy. Laissez les bons temps rouler. Let the good times roll.
