(FROM THE VOICE OF THE CHARACTER RAQUEL) "I AM SOMEBODY AND NOBODY'S GONNA HOLD ME DOWN...I'M SOMEBODY!" Above is my favorite quote by Deena Jones representing who I am today. However, I haven't always been that somebody. To briefly describe myself when I was young I was a very quiet little girl who was never first, second, third, or fourth. No, I wasn't the little red caboose either. I was the little black caboose pregnant with a story implanted by God, developed in the midst of my storms. Most of my life I felt trapped under a dark cloud. I didn't know which way to turn, it seemed like every time I was in the eye of the storm, the hurricane never failed to toss me out. I asked myself why all the storms, was it because of the failed marriages that I had no control over? Or was it my kindness being taken for granted? Sometimes in life we are left with nothing but questions. That led me to think of an old song that was popular back in the day, "We will understand it better by and by." But will we ever understand it? I didn't know God at the beginning of my perilous times so life under the cloud unlike the Israelites was totally hopeless. It wasn't until I met Marion who ministered to me about God and sparked an interest in me to seek Him. The storms were so bad at one time that I thought I would lose my mind. BUT GOD had other plans for me. He took what the devil meant for evil and turned it into something good, a testimony that I can share with you so that you will know that He is there for you! Sometimes you have to be broken so He can fix you. He wants you to cry out "Fix Me Jesus!" This story is to let someone under a dark cloud know that there is sunshine, there is a God who loves you, and there is help, hope, healing and happiness waiting in the spirit. BUT you must endure the storms and die of the flesh in order to live in the spirit. Romans 8:13 tells us, For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, YOU WILL LIVE!
