Enrique Dussel (December 24, 1934 - November 5, 2023) was an Argentine philosopher, historian, and theologian naturalized Mexican. Internationally recognized for his work in ethics, political philosophy, and Latin American philosophy, he was one of the founders of the Philosophy of Liberation, a movement that seeks critical reflection from the perspective of the oppressed in Latin America.

Among his most notable works are Philosophy of Liberation (1977), Ethics of Liberation in the Age of Globalization and Exclusion (1998), and Politics of Liberation (2007). These works focus on the critical analysis of modernity and the construction of a philosophy committed to the emancipation of Latin American peoples.
