Synopsis "En las Montañas de la Locura y otros relatos (in Spanish)"

Uno de los títulos más representativos de la vasta producción del denominado “Maestro del terror cósmico”, el estadounidense Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890 – 1937). Nadie como él ha mezclado los relatos de terror y ciencia ficción. Creador de una mitología propia (los mitos de Cthulhu), desarrollada en colaboración con otros autores y todavía vigente y elucubrador sin par de civilizaciones prehumanas. Su obra con base materialista se aparta de la temática tradicional (satanismo, fantasmas), incorporando elementos de ciencia ficción (razas alienígenas, viajes en el tiempo, existencia de otras dimensiones). Discípulo de Edgar Allan Poe, su continuador más conspicuo sería Stephen King. Con “En las montañas de la locura”, Lovecraft continúa ampliando las ramificaciones y seres fantásticos del “terror cósmico”, previamente introducido con otra de sus obras, “La llamada de Cthulhu”.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft (Providence, August 20, 1890-Providence, March 15, 1937) better known as H. P. Lovecraft, was an American writer, author of stories and novels of horror and science fiction.

He is considered a great innovator of the horror story, to which he contributed his own mythology —the Cthulhu Mythos—, developed in collaboration with other authors, currently in force.

His work constitutes a classic of cosmic horror, a narrative line that deviates from traditional supernatural horror stories —satanism, ghosts—, including elements of science fiction such as, for example, alien races, time travel, or the existence of other dimensions.
