Simone de Beauvoir (Paris, January 9, 1908 – April 14, 1986) was one of the most influential philosophers, writers, and essayists of the 20th century, a key figure in existentialism and an international reference in feminism. She studied philosophy at the Sorbonne, where she met Jean-Paul Sartre, with whom she maintained a famous intellectual and personal relationship that would mark her life and thought.
