Synopsis "Flat Affect"

Ten years ago, prominent psychotherapist Marci Horton locked her husband and two children inside their family home and burned it to the ground. Did she do it for love, or was she pushed over the edge when she began to hear and see things-the same hallucinations, in fact, that her patients experienced and described to her in their psychotherapy sessions? Things go downhill quickly as her hallucinations progress from hearing her name being called and seeing shadow people to demonic faces in doors and animals with human heads. Her complete breakdown lands her in Greenview Psychiatric Hospital where psychiatrist Dr. Johnathan Ward, her previous lover, uses his position of power to secure a future for himself and the woman he loves. Now Executive Director Bradley Browning is involved in the love triangle. He begins to suspect that patient Marci Horton was misdiagnosed and is actually suffering from dissociative identity disorder. When new personalities start to emerge, Bradley discovers he is not immune to her allure, either. It's a fine line between love and insanity.
