Synopsis "Future Perfect: A Resurrection"

"Future Perfect" is the sequel to "The Last of Heaven" and concludes the narrative of the previous novel. Once again the theme is doomed lesbian love and once again the setting is Millennium London. The action takes place in the summer of 2000 and revolves around Abigail, a classy prostitute recovering from a traumatic injury a year earlier which has left her with an impaired memory and a confused identity. She is receiving treatment from sinister therapist Paula Masters while conducting a secret affair with Paula's step-daughter, Lola, a feisty art student with a pronounced appetite for sex, drugs and gangsters. Matters are further complicated when Miriam, a successful photographer and an art-college lecturer, seduces Abigail by engineering a mind-altering orgasm, opening her up to a transpersonal connection beyond her comprehension or control. From this point events take a fateful turn and the dark forces surrounding Abigail begin to close in on her. The lines between past and future, dream and reality, love and death become frighteningly blurred as she is drawn irresistibly into the Abyss. Like its predecessor, "Future Perfect" is an erotic mystery-thriller which explores the disturbing connections between art, drugs, sadomasochism, Christianity, sacrifice, black magic, love, death and the deepest of all human desires, the transformation of the Self. A desire so deep that some will stop at nothing in order to satisfy it...
