Synopsis "Global National"

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Global National is the national newscast of Global Television Network in Canada. The program's weekday anchor is Kevin Newman, whose name was added to the program's title from the start of its second season. From 2001 until 2008, Newman anchored the program from Global's Vancouver station CHAN-TV using a studio shared with local newscasts. In February 2008, Newman moved to Ottawa and now anchors from a specially-built digital newsroom and studio facility in the city. Global National is the only Canadian national news to be regularly anchored from the capital. The newscast's main editorial and production staff remain at CHAN-TV in Vancouver from which the Ottawa studio's cameras are controlled remotely. Similar remote-controlled greenscreen studios have been introduced at a number of local Global newscasts. Carolyn Jarvis and Robin Gill currently share the weekend anchor position of Global National, hosting on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Formerly the position was held by Tara Nelson, who became Global's Europe bureau chief in September 2008.
