This is never truer than in the parent child relationship where great trust and responsibility lies. In my early years I never gave it much thought, but now I reflect with love and gratitude as I have come to know that my parents were always teaching. Years of living have piled up a treasure trove of experience and memories. I realize now that life itself has always been teaching. Looking back I see humor in events and situations that held no humor at the time. I also recognize lessons being taught that were not obvious nor appreciated as those events unfolded. Retrospect can be a fine teacher as it reveals the parables of life in which we were the key player and were being taught:
