Synopsis "Goyas Schatten (in German)"

Ein Gemälde des jungen Francisco Goya bestimmt das Schicksal von drei Frauen aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten in Rom, München, Madrid und Berlin und verursacht den Tod von zwei Menschen. Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts beeinflusst dieses Bild schmerzlich die Liebesbeziehung von Ana Maria, Tochter des Malers Anton Raphael Mengs, und Francisco Goya in Rom. Jahre später sehen sie sich in Madrid wieder, ohne an ihr früheres Verhältnis anknüpfen zu können. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts kauft die Münchner Malerin Emilie aus einer Laune heraus auf einem Pariser Flohmarkt das ihr unbekannte Gemälde, das ihr Leben durcheinanderwirbelt und sie von München nach Berlin verschlägt. Auch auf das Leben ihrer Tochter Charly, einer Kunsthistorikerin, wirft das inzwischen verschollene Gemälde seine Schatten. Anfang der 1970er Jahre macht sich Charly auf die Suche.
