Do you need encouragement? Are you in need of a lift to your spirit? Grandma's Book might just be what you need. As my aunts said, in years gone by, these are the "Words Our Mother Lived By". And they were right! Grandma was an extremely spiritual woman who took pleasure in reading inspirational musings, poems and prayers. I have read the words, in the family booklet, for years. The pages are torn and tattered. The covers' edges have turned from a soft blue to a dusty brown. The booklet has a prominent place in my home. I like it handy when I get the urge for some uplifting. I decided to transcribe and publish the booklet so that others might be inspired by the words my grandma lived by. I'm pretty sure grandma would approve. Especially if she thought the reading of these words might help someone through a rough time or two. Grandma's life was not easy. Her parents migrated to the USA in the 1800's, from the country of Denmark, and settled in the small town of Denmark, Wisconsin. They were a large farming family. Through all and everything, grandma kept her faith, which fueled her hope in a brighter tomorrow. That faith was instilled in my mother, who instilled it in me. I am ever grateful. My hope is that this book might give you encouragement, make you smile, and possibly help you get out of your funk. If it does, grandma, my aunts, and my mother, who have all passed on to a better world, will be happy.
