Synopsis "Hashtag (in Spanish)"

Eric es un muchacho que en apariencia lo tiene todo: dos padres perfectos y que lo consideran el mejor hijo del mundo, una mansión en Los Ángeles, una educación de lujo, una mejor amiga llamada Jade y un compañero de curso tan misterioso como atractivo. Chava, por el contrario, parece haber perdido todo menos el entusiasmo y las ganas de vivir. Lleva varios meses hospitalizado por una lesión en su columna vertebral, y su mundo entero se ha reducido a un cuarto blanco con olor a desinfectante. Desde una cama añora el mundo exterior, su barrio, el ruido de las calles, y a una muchacha que tiene un tatuaje en forma de libélula. Los dos son muchachos que recién comienzan a vivir la vida. Los dos han decidido esconder sus verdaderos sentimientos para así poder sobrevivir. José Ignacio Valenzuela Güiraldes was born in Santiago, Chile, on April 29, 1972. He studied Literature and Aesthetics at the Catholic University. He has lived in Puerto Rico, New York, and Mexico. Currently, he resides in Miami, United States.

He has written more than twelve soap operas for Canal 13, TVN, Televisa, Television Azteca, and Telemundo.
Since 2015, he has been a columnist for the American newspaper Huffington Post, with the biweekly blog called The making of a book.
He worked for the Bride's Magazine as a literary editor in his column The Diary of a Bride (1995-1997). In 1996, he published his first novel, What happened to Sofia Alcantara, and in 1999 the stories With the night upon us. They were followed by: The edge of your skin; The case of the actress whom nobody wanted; Emergency exit; The infinite woman and Trilogy of Malamor.
He has also written the juvenile detective series Four Eyes, which includes the titles: The case of the actress whom nobody wanted, The case of the cruise called Neptune, The case of the jade mask, and The case of Cerro Panteon.
In 2014 he published his first children's book: What color is your shadow?
He has taught workshops on creative writing and scripts at the universities of Sacred Heart of Puerto Rico and Catholic of Chile, as well as at the Academic Foundation of New Cinema of the Dominican Republic.
