Synopsis "Hiers bleus (in French)"

Hiers bleus est un recueil de poésie de John-Antoine Nau dédié à Paul Signac, publié en 1903, l'année où son roman Force ennemie reçoit le premier prix Goncourt de l'histoire. Îles, lagunes, Antilles, la poésie évocatrice et suggestive de Nau peint des paysages marins, exotiques, plein de couleurs brillantes, mais qui ne sont pas toujours idylliques et baudelairiens, versant parfois dans l'inquiétant, la mélancolie, puisant à des inspirations plus hivernales, par exemple celle de Schumann, chère au poète, au gré desquelles le bleu des océans et la nacre des rivages laissent place à des plaines vertes, pleines de brouillard ainsi que, ici ou là, au pittoresque d'accents espagnols. La balade de Lily Dale, à la langue virtuose et sophistiquée, devient en 2003, soit un siècle après sa publication, une chanson d'Arthur H. dans son album Négresse blanche.
