Este segundo volumen aborda un periodo vibrante y decisivo de la historia de uno de los grandes logros de la humanidad: la fisica cuantica. Cientificos pioneros como Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schrodinger, Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr o Paul Dirac, entre otros, son los protagonistas de este periodo fecundo de la historia del proyecto cuantico. Jose Manuel Sanchez Ron narra en este segundo volumen la culminacion de los esfuerzos que permitieron la creacion e interpretacion de la mecanica cuantica, y profundiza en sus desarrollos teoricos, mostrando como algunos de ellos tuvieron resultados cientificos imprevistos y asombrosos. Esta etapa pone de relieve el caracter comunal y poliedrico de la empresa cuantica y culmina en un año trascendental, 1935, cuando la coincidencia de dos publicaciones marca un hito en la disciplina. Por un lado, el famoso articulo de Einstein y sus colaboradores, y por otro, el de la famosa paradoja de Schrodinger, revelaron una propiedad altamente contraintuitiva denominada entrelazamiento. Una idea fundamental y sorprendente de la fisica cuantica, ?la superposicion de estados?, que cambiaria para siempre el futuro de la ciencia.

José Manuel Sánchez Ron (Madrid, January 6, 1949) is a Spanish physicist, science historian, and academic. He graduated in Physical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1971 and obtained his PhD in 1978 at University College London. He has been a professor of the History of Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid and a member of institutions such as the Royal Spanish Academy, where he has held chair G since 2003, and the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences.

Author of more than forty books and over four hundred publications, his work focuses on the history of science, especially physics of the 19th and 20th centuries. Among his notable titles are "The Century of Science" (2000) and "The World After the Revolution: Physics in the Second Half of the 20th Century" (2015), for which he received the National Essay Prize in 2015. Additionally, he has directed scientific dissemination collections and collaborated with media outlets such as "El País" and "El Cultural".
