Por ello, aunque sus protagonistas luchan por hallar un orden que los ampare, no dejan de ser lúcidos en cuanto a la inutilidad de dicho empeño. De ahí que los “rituales” y “sacrificios” que dan nombre a las dos partes del libro no puedan conjurar el horror de estar vivo en un mundo que carece de sentido y donde la risa acaba siendo, en muchas ocasiones, la única salida.
