Il s'agit d'une situation clinique caractérisée par une sécrétion excessive de PTH par les glandes parathyroïdes, entraînant une hypercalcémie chronique et des altérations des principaux organes cibles de l'hormone (rein et os)(5,6). C'est la cause la plus fréquente d'hypercalcémie chez les patients non hospitalisés (5,27).
