Join storyteller Jon Wunrow and his good friend VO on Wunrow's third long-distance paddling adventure, this time on the 981-mile Ohio River. Setting out from the river's headwaters and the author's hometown in Pittsburgh, PA, the Ohio River flows past big cities like Cincinnati and Louisville, and meanders along the rural borders of Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, and Illinois, through some of the Midwest's most beautiful country. And as in Wunrow's other river, hiking, and biking adventures, it's the people he meets along the way that create the best stories.

"I Want to Be a Gorilla When I'm a Grown-Up" is a quote from Wunrow's three-year-old grandson Rio, and it reminds us all that even as we get older, we don't need to stop dreaming and thinking outside the boxes we create for ourselves. Because outside those boxes are so many experiences we are yet to have and friends we have yet to meet.

Jonathan Wunrow is the author of eight adventure travel books, including Adventure Inward: A Risk Taker's Book of Quotes; Paddling the Mississippi: One Story at a Time; and We Are Nomads: A Bicycle Trip Across Mongolia. In between adventures, he spends as much time as possible with his grandchildren and future adventure partners, Arlo, Rio, Coletta, and Lucy.
