Las investigaciones lógicas surgieron de los problemas que Husserl encontró en sus largos esfuerzos por «obtener una explicación filosófica de la matemática pura». Estos ensayos constituyen una nueva fundamentación de la lógica pura y de la teoría del conocimiento. El primer volumen incluye los prolegómenos a la lógica pura y las dos primeras investigaciones, tituladas «Expresión y significación» y «La unidad ideal de la especie y las teorías modernas de la abstracción». El segundo volumen contiene las otras cuatro: «Sobre la teoría de los todos y las partes», «La diferencia entre las significaciones independientes y no-independientes y la idea de la gramática pura», «Sobre las vivencias intencionales y sus contenidos» y «Elementos de un esclarecimiento fenomenológico del conocimiento».

Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) was a German philosopher, considered the founder of phenomenology, a philosophical movement that deeply influenced twentieth-century thought. Among his most notable works are Logical Investigations (1900-1901), Ideas Pertaining to a Pure Phenomenology and to a Phenomenological Philosophy (1913), and The Crisis of European Sciences and Transcendental Phenomenology (1936). His writings address the structure of consciousness and experience, laying the groundwork for transcendental phenomenology.

His work influenced figures such as Martin Heidegger and Jean-Paul Sartre, leaving a fundamental legacy in modern philosophy. Husserl explored themes such as intentionality and perception, transforming the way the relationship between the subject and the world is understood.
