Synopsis "Jackboots"

It was the year 1999, 70 years after the death of Horst Wessell, a Nazi martyr. The Future political party is becoming popular in Germany. Shirley Stokes, a freelance writer, reads an editorial regarding the increase in sales of "Mein Kampf" over the internet. After some research, she makes a deal with the editor of the metropolitan newspaper her husband works for. The paper agrees to share expenses of Maria, Shirley's daughter who is visiting Shirley's sister in Berlin, in exchange for a news exclusive about what Maria might discover with the help of her cousin Friedrich. In Germany, Eric, son of Otto Schmidt, becomes deeply involved in the Future Party. Eric, Maria, and Friedrich's paths cross at a meeting arranged over the internet, where they met in Bielefeld, Eric's home town. The Future Party sounds alarmingly similar to the Nazis to Maria. In addition, Eric makes a discovery that spurs him on. Events move toward a climax at a Future Party rally just before national elections in Germany are to be held. It alters the present, and lays out a path to the future.
