Laid off during the 2008 collapse, Kevin Kerry scrambles to keep his family intact until he finally lands a bookkeeping job at JD Customs, a Pittsburgh jewelry store with a sleek showroom up front and considerably more interesting arrangements in the back. The money is modest at first, barely enough to justify the commute. The boss, Johnny DelGatto, is charismatic and rough around the edges.
