Im vorliegenden Band der Kölner Papyri werden 26 bisher unveröffentlichte beziehungsweise teilweise unveröffentlichte Texte publiziert. Den grö ten Teil des Bandes nimmt die Publikation griechischer Papyrusurkunden ein. Mit Ausnahme dreier Privatbriefe aus familiärem und geschäftlichem Bereich, von denen zwei aus der Kaiserzeit datieren, gehören die restlichen griechischen Dokumente des Bandes in einen amtlichen und rechtlichen Kontext und datieren aus vorchristlicher Zeit. Hinzu kommt ein demotischer Papyrus aus dem 2. Jh. v.Chr. Dabei handelt sich um die Abschrift des demotischen Protokolls einer Verhandlung, die im Jahre 114 v.Chr. vor der Gerichtskammer der Laokriten in Theben geführt wurde. Den Band komplettieren drei koptische (semi-)literarische Texte aus später Zeit (6./7., 10. und 10./11. Jh. n.Chr.).
