Constantino Manuel Torres, known as Manuel Torres, is an archaeologist and ethnobotanist specialized in pre-Columbian ethnobotany of South America and the Caribbean. He has focused his research on the use of psychoactive plants, especially Anadenanthera peregrina, known as cohoba in the Taíno culture, and its associated paraphernalia. Since 1982, he has conducted studies in the San Pedro de Atacama oasis, Chile, analyzing ancient cultures of the central-southern Andes.

Among his notable publications is "Anadenanthera: Visionary Plant of Ancient South America" (2006), co-authored with David B. Repke, which explores the use of this plant in ancient South American cultures. His work falls within the genres of archaeology and ethnobotany, providing valuable insights into ritual practices and the use of plants in pre-Columbian societies.
