Este libro es un epistolario inusual, que recoge las cartas que el pintor Miguel Ángel Campano, Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas en 1996, envió durante más de cuarenta años al catedrático de Filosofía Nicolás Sánchez Durá, entre 1971 y 2012. De ellas emerge el espíritu impetuoso del artista, que recorre su biografía mientras da cuenta de sus ideas sobre la pintura, sus reflexiones desde el psicoanálisis o su pasión por el arte o la literatura. Un volumen que da fe de su carácter a ratos sombrío, a ratos eufórico ―siempre magnético―y que es muestra de una amistad, en palabras de Sánchez Durá, «tan radical como amorosa, exigente en extremo y espléndida».
