Langstaff
Sharon Harrison;Esther Driediger (Author) · Trafford Publishing · Paperback
The Langstaff history goes back many, many generations in England and the name, Langstaff is recorded as early as 1210. The authors have compiled information that has been available, but not easily accessible to the general reader. Within these pages one is able to get a glimpse of the family history, in Durham, England, before the emigration of George and Sarah (Wilson) Langstaff of Staindrop, Durham County, England to Canada in the early 1830's. This record follows some of their descendants from Bruce Co. Ontario, Durham County, Ontario, on to Michigan, Montana, and back to Canada - Alberta and British Columbia.
In the pages of this book are stories of many families who have descended from Langstaff and the Brinkman families, of Bruce County, Ontario, who joined in marriage not once, but four times! Big neighboring families and limited travel opportunities frequently ensured that a nearby neighbor would be in the family tree.
