Piedad Bonnett (Amalfi, Colombia, 1951) holds a degree in Philosophy and Literature from the Universidad de los Andes. She has a master's in Art and Architecture Theory from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She has published nine books of poems, several anthologies, and the volume Poesía reunida (Lumen, 2016). Additionally, she is the author of six plays, the novels Después de todo (2001), Para otros es el cielo (2004), Siempre fue invierno (2007), El prestigio de la belleza (2010), and Donde nadie me espere (2018), and Lo que no tiene nombre (2013), an intimate and overwhelming story about the death of her son, included in 2016 by Babelia among the hundred best books of the last twenty-five years. This title and all her novels have been published by Alfaguara. She has won the National Poetry Prize awarded by the Colombian Institute of Culture (Colcultura), in 1994; in 2011, the Casa de América Poetry Prize of Madrid; in 2012, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the Víctor Sandoval Award; in 2014, the José Lezama Lima Award from Casa de las Américas, and in 2016, the Generación del 27 Prize, in Málaga.
